Country coach, 2021

Oksana Schetinina is 29 years old. She holds the Master of the Sport of Russia title in kickboxing, her major sports achievements include winning the World Championship in 2013, the European Championship twice, and the Championship of Russia 7 times. After ending her sports career in 2018 Oksana left Moscow for the village of Krasnogvardeyskoye located in 30 km of the village where she grew up in Stavropol Krai. There she established a kickboxing club on the local sports school grounds. Oksana’s decision still puzzles those who dream of Moscow. Oksana greatly enjoys life in the country and has big ambitions regarding her coaching career. After 2 years of training her apprentices bring home medals from all regional competitions. The children’s parents help Oksana with preparations and transport to the competitions. There is no suitable space for training in the village, which is why Oksana has put through a request to build a martial arts school with the regional administration office. The request has been approved. For now, training sessions take place in the old House of Culture (community centre) building several evenings a week. In the mornings Oksana works as a PE teacher at a local college.
